Most people that has Thalassophobia understand that their fears are excessive or unfounded but the cannot overcome it because it is an unconscious thought.

Beginning to cross the bridge, her breathing became short and sporadic. She began to sweat, shaking uncontrollably. She became tensed now looking for a way out because she knows that she is not going to make it. Finally she see the opportunity to turn around. She drives all the way back to the beginning of the bridge and tries to calm herself down. At this point the grand-daughter became very concern about her grandmother's condition

Facts about the bridge.

On September 16, 2004, Hurricane Ivan struck Pensacola, Florida, with 120-mile-per-hour winds that severely damaged the 2.5 mile I-10 bridge over Escambia Bay. When that hurricane came through it took 3,400 feet of the bridge and dropped it into the bay making the commute over an hour detour. The Escambia Bay Bridge was 2.6 miles long. In 66 days after Ivan came through Pensacola Florida, the Escambia Bay Bridge was reconstructed and traffic was allowed to use it once again
